Fabric Inspection (FI)

Fabric Inspection is an important aspect followed prior to garment manufacturing to avoid rejects due to fabric quality and facing with unexpected loss in manufacturing. Fabric inspection is done for fault/defect rate, fabric construction, end to end or edge to edge shading, color, hand or feel, length/width, print defect and appearance. Fabric inspection ensures to minimize the rejection of cut panels or rejected garments due to fabric faults. Cutting inspected and approved fabric ensures not only finished garment quality but also reduces rejects, improves efficiency and timely deliveries.

Conduct Inspections For Greige or Finished Fabric Following the International Standards of 4 Point System or 10 Point System Accordingly as per the Customer Requirements.

The Client will select the appropriate fault rate and standard to determine the acceptance of each shipment. This will minimize the quantity of garments rejected for fabric faults, thereby ensuring the quality of the finished goods. Fabric inspection is also considered as pre-production inspection for garments or other textile products

Techniques of Fabric Inspection

A Detailed visual inspection is carried out with reference to:

» Design/Color/shade/hand feel (against client’s reference sample)
» Yarn defects/weaving defects/processing defects/Fabric defects
» length/width/construction/weight (where required)
» On site Visual inspection of fabric using 4 point system or 10 point system
» On site and off site color matching with approved sample.
» On site assessment of fabric construction

Report

On completion of the inspection critical defectives are reviewed with the factory representative and a report is sent to the client to enable the client to take a decision on the shipment. We present our inspection results in a comprehensive and user friendly format.
